Card Golf Part 3: 2nd Batch of Android Apps

Continuing from last time, here are more Card Golf android apps...


5. The next Android app we found was "Card Golf & 31: Scat Cards" by Gameyantra.  Last updated Aug 11, 2026.   This developer has over a dozen other games, including one that runs 14 popular card games from India.


This one will play 4, 6, or 8 card games.  It had good basic game play but the screens rendered a little larger than the actual screen, so when I went to any Settings page there was no way to get back to the home page -- I had to restart each time.  You can go ad free forever for $0.99, or watch one ad for 60 minutes ad-free, but it can't keep getting stuck.

6. Next was "Golf Card Game" by JoshsGames.com




Last updated June 14, 2026.  This app will play 4, 6 or 9 card games with 6, 9 or 18 holes.  Unlike most of the others, you can set the card speed, and choose whether or not to peek at the bottom row of cards.  There are 12 computer "players" to choose from with avatars and difficulty ratings.  In the actual game, there are nice clear scores at the top.  You can pass without revealing a card.  Oddly, the rules for 9-card made no mention that vertical triples count 0, but visibly, that is how those hands are being scored.  At the end of the hand, a very clear explanation of each player's score is shown.

JoshsGames.com has a friendly developer profile with a few other games to try out.  The page has good set of rules ... for all of his games except Card Golf.

7. "Card Golf Classic Tour" by Ko-chan Studio


Last updated Feb 17, 2026.  This developer had 25 games on Google Play, mostly card games.  You can choose Novice, Mid or Expert difficulty then choose 2-3-4 CPUs and 9 or 18 holes.  After seeing all the others, we were getting tired of mostly the same thing over and over again.  While this had a clean layout, it annoyed me greatly that there was no player score or turn score anywhere on the screen.  I was also unable to get back to home while a match was in progress; we could only go to Next Match, Standings or Check Board (go back at look at current game).

Unlike the first page of apps where the card draws seemed weighted toward the bots, in one of these (I forget which one), I swear I got stuck in a few games where 15-20 cards came up all between 7 and Q, and I just quit the game.

Some of these apps were from fairly new developers, with under 500 downloads, so they might grow and improve with time.

Back in Idle Planet Miner, production was starting to bog down, with crafts taking an hour apiece, and sometimes needing hundreds of items to unlock new research.  So, I figured it would be a good time to test out their "Sell Your Planet" feature, which has so many people online asking questions. These idle games can't level up through an infinite many items, so they all have this same kind of game reset mechanism.  In Idle Planet Miner, the Sell Galaxy button shows you the value of your galaxy and how many credits you will get for it.  These credits are a kind of meta currency, letting you buy new rooms for your ships, with each new room offering a different game boost.  Clicking the Sell button will show you exactly what you will lose: all planets, cash, ores, alloys, items, research.  Which sounds terrible.  But you get to keep your dark matter, your managers, your beacon buffs (though you will have to research the Beacon again to get it back on screen),...

WarZone Idle

Playing with WarZone a bit this week, I discovered that there is an "Idle" campaign at the bottom of the main page.  Either that's new, or I just didn't see a year ago when I first wrote about this great app. The Idle campaign is set up in a very interesting way.  The maps appear to be the same sequence as in the main game: you start with the standard Risk world map.  But now, you have a certain amount of money and armies shown at the top right as W and A values.  You gain some amount of each per second, and each space has an army value shown on it.  So maybe Brazil starts at 96.  Click it when you have 96 armies and it's your without a fight. Some spaces have "resources", which include Army Bases (where you can buy armies for W's), Caches (some amount of Ws and As), Mines, Forges and Crafters.  Some of these can be upgraded by spending Ws to get more per second.  You can forge ores into ingots like so many other games and sell all the resources f...

Escape from the Aquarium

We found Escape from the Aquarium on the way home from our Sedona trip.   It looked cute and we didn't notice at the time that it was an escape room game for kids.   Or main issue with escape room games is that the pieces get marked up or ruined during the course of the game,  so it's hard to play them a second time.   And knowing the outcome spoils the replayability.  Escape room games are not really games, they are sets of puzzles. The art is bright and friendly.  The story is a bit silly: you get turned into a fish while visiting the aquarium and have to swim around looking for clues to get magical ingredients to get back to human form.   Okay.
