Chest Hero Part 8 - No Hunting or Trading for Me

As I unlock the last features, I'm annoyed about the Hunting and Ocean Trading sections, since they're only open during weekdays from 9:30AM-6:30PM.  Since my job plus commute has me busy from 8:30AM-5:30PM, it leaves me only the one hour after work (when I'm really tired or having dinner) to try those things.  So I guess I won't be documenting those.

Instead, I paid for month of Auto Fishing just to see how it works.  It is very similar to the chest automation.  Just pick a rarity and it will run through all the more common items and only ask you to decide when a fish of the selected rarity is found.  This was a little bit odd at first since I didn't realize the fish had a rarity class, but yes, their names are color-coded with the same ranks as other items.

Actually, both automations run seamlessly together.  If you're on the Fishing page and you see "Chest Sprite Stopped", hop back to the main page to deal with the item, and if you're on the main page and see "Auto Fishing COmpleted", go see what fish you got.

I let the automations run for a few minutes here and there on breaks, before bed, and so on.  I'm halfway through level 86.  I don't know why the chest has to take over 24 hours to upgrade after I got paid all the coins, but that's what the speed tickets are for.  Each ticket shortens the wait by 5 minutes.  Now my fishing orders need 8 hours to update unless I spend a ticket I have never seen.  And the mini-game screen is stuck on the last game I played until a refresh in over 8 hours.

I showed Anne the SwordFight mini-game last night before bed, and like every other time, even if I hit the number 1 or number 2 spot, I get whacked down to size in the last 30 seconds and end up with almost nothing.  I did managed to hide in a corner from 0:20 down to zero to come out with a measly 300 points.  Top guy got 1200.  No sir, I don't like it.

To get to the second Fishing Spot, I am at 77/100 small fish caught, 2838/5000 coins earned by selling fish, and completed adventure 4-15.  Auto-Fishing does help, now at 84 and 3233.

Level 87.  Level 88 needs 2080 xp, roughly 400 chests.  

Level 88.  Can't get past Adventure 5-30 -- that guy seems to have an outrageous amount of xp.

Lunch break is over.

Later on: got to Level 90.  Just about out of bait for fishing, but I have over 500 chests left.

I let is mostly auto-fish and auto-chest up to level 92.  Feels like the best way to get more chests is to raid the bosses, since that give 260 chests each time.  World Boss 9 costs something like 10 diamonds the first time, then 20, then 52, 104 and 208 but if you raid it 4 times you get over 1000 chests, which is at least one more level.

I made it to fishing Spot 2 "Oak Bay", but to get to the next spot needs adventure 5-30, 15000 coins from selling fish, 300 medium fish.

Empires & Puzzles: End of Season 5

I finished Season 5 (Egypt).  The last battle was impressive, with Set starting at about 18K HP with the usual minions, after which he becomes a titan battle with about 60KHP, and as that was winding down with my guys getting very weak, he came back as a regular battle with anoth 13KHP.  I think I did the 75 gems to buy a second chance, but it was a good end-of-season adventure with some surprises. A few nights back, I got an event summons and came up with Heimdall, that really difficult opponent who blows his horn and heals allies above their normal max HP, AND can reincarnate fallen allies.  Now he's on my team 6, and I'm training him up to help with the alliance wars. Last night I got a few event summons again, and bought a few more for $5.99.  Got some new ones: lemur construct, treevil, and a bunch of really odd characters.  I later got 3 summons from coins at the end of the event and got two different gnomes and some kind of magical flamingo.  Heck, 500 coins fo

Peace by Peace: Succulents

We got Peace by Peace: Succulents a few weeks back at the Toy Box in San Clemente, CA on the way back from a weekend trip.  I also got the cactus-themed game "What's the Point" in that same batch, so it was an odd pair.  Two of the types of plants I used to grow back when I had space to grow things. Anyway, Peace by Peace is not really a game, it's a series of 50 puzzles.  There is a set of 45 triangle-shaped tiles with colored leaf patterns in each corner, then a set of 50 cards giving puzzles to be solved.  Each card list which numbered tiles to use and shows a few starting cards by their number, but not what position they're in, followed by some empty spaces and possibly the colors of a few other corners. The challenge is to work out how to complete the pattern using the tiles available.  It's a bit annoying finding those tiles to setup the puzzles, but we settled on stacking them in piles of 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39 and 40-45.  Then we could easily find wh

Idle Planet Miner - Debris Fields

I finally completed research for the debris field in Idle Planet Miner.  It only took about a full month of what little time I have to fiddle with it daily. Yes, the debris fields are automatically harvested, just like the asteroids.  I have seen two debris fields appear so far.  One gave me a satellite dish and the other gave 71 basic computers.  So they are pretty much exactly what I was expecting: a source of random items. Here is one I caught in a screenshot... I added the white box so you can see it better.  They are gone in about 5 seconds like the asteroids so you might not see them most of the time.  I suddenly have 60 advanced computers, 700 lasers and a ton of other things.  Now I need 5 more nuclear reactors and 92 scrith alloy for the only other research available: superior asteroid harvester, another x1.3 value bonus.  I guess I can also do Advanced Leader for 8 more motors, 8 telescopes and 111 scrith alloy.
