Chest Hero Part 3

Gems, Inlaying and Crafting

Starting around quest 82, there is a long series of quests that teach you how to get gems, inlay them and create gems.  To purchase gems, just click the gem icon, then Enter, then Purchase.  To Inlay gems, click Inlay and then try to fit your little tetris pieces into the 5x5 grid at top left.  There will be a task to "Inlay 3 gems" which I found very confusing.  It turns out that they mean to somehow fit 3 tetris-pieces into the grid.  After that, and buying more Gems, the quests say to Craft a Gem.  Under the Purchase button, a new Craft button appears, click that and drag three gems into the slots at the top.  The idea is to use three gems of the same tier to make one gem of the next tier up.  The higher-tier tetris-pieces are actually smaller so they can fit into smaller areas in the grid.  The gem combs give some additional buffs.  That's an interesting extra area to play around in.

The actual number of chest clicks needed to level up slowly increases over time.  Each click generates 4 to 7 xp orbs (usually 5), and to get from level 30 to 31 takes 295 xp.

There is now a little owl that flies around and wants you to watch videos for 25 gems.

Task 91 is to Craft 3 gems, then 92 is Acquire a total of 18 gems (sure), then 93 is Craft 5 gems (it's getting a bit monotonous now), then we get back to 94 Complete Adventure 2-20 (which I already did), then 95 Reach level 35 (that's going to be almost 200 clicks, ugh).

I got 40 chests and 20 gems for completing a puzzle using trades to get the last piece.  On the Kingdoms page, the Reputation button gives rankings against each kingdom, and when those reach 100, 300, 800 (etc) you get rewards -- I just got 40 chests and 7500 gold for the 100 level reward.  For chest level 6, it takes 5 permits at 10,000 gold each.  I finished Adventure level 3-6 and was almost able to defeat World Boss 3.  I have no idea what the point of the equipment transmogs would be; they don't seem to provide any bonuses.  Next completed puzzle was 50 chests + 40 gems + speed ticket.

Swordfight

Another update today (1.0.6.1), and there is another new challenge up in the top bar, called Swordfight.  It also appears on the Kingdoms page for some reason.  This puts you in a field of grass full of coins and chests along with 9 other players.  As you zoom along collecting things with your sword swirling around your body, you level up and get bigger while the map zoom out a notch.  But you have to watch out for other players that might steamroll you and knock back down to the tiny level 1 guy again.  It's reasonably fun, more so when you're the big guy knocking out the little guys.  It feels balanced enough, and you get a final ranking.  The change of player size is weird, but okay.  I tried to zoom back in to the original map scale but it wouldn't let me.

So, it looks like there are plenty of activities here to keep a player clicking.  For me, the Territory page is the least interesting, the mini games are fun for a while, and the rest is not unlike a hundred other games.  It's a big plus that you can trade with other players for puzzle pieces, and I think I saw another item on one of the trade pages.
