MDRPG Stage 40 gets lucky
I was thinking of stopping at the end
of Stage 40, but this is one of the only game-like apps that runs in a
readable size on my small phone screen, and it's perfect for just taking
it out while waiting for something and poking my way through a few
levels.
After Stage 40 there's a new base camp called Ruins, with
the first new sace we've seen in a while, called Lucky Treasure. This
is a prize spinner, and you get lucky tickets by watching videos (or if
you paid for no ads, just click the video button) with a limit of 3 per
day. There's not a lot they can offer in the way of prizes, since the
game is so lean, but you can get keys, seeds and fertilizer, even stat
boosts.
Stage 41 is Village Ruins, and has new spaces called
Lucky Tickets, which drop those lucky tickets. Also, they got really
creative with some of the levels, which start entirely filled with large
patches of Dense Fog, and when you click them you get a bunch of
smaller normal spaces. These levels are also larger than usual. That
makes it a little more fun to explore.
Stage 42 is Desolate Land.
Stage 43 is Pilgrimage.
March 17:
Still going. Now I'm at Lv 231 = 7836 HP, 1392 AP, 9221 ATK, 4374 DEF, 1676 RCV.
Stage 44
is Tribal Land, and again it feels like a perfect match for my current
level. Oddly, I ran out of coins for the first time since near the
start of the game. They're easy enough to restock, 1000 coins for 5
gems (I have 1507 of those), or the spinner will give 1000 or 8888
coins. The designers are getting creative with how the spaces
interact. If you see a room with 5 magic spring and only one opponent,
expect that more will appear as you clear the room. There are now River
spaces which take two taps to clear, and I just saw a blue space called
Lakes which took 4 fishing attempts to clear, which is a logical
extension of the rivers. Although, some of those lakes turn into ogres.
The
D&D influence is a bit much at times. There's no need for an Ogre
Mage, just call it something different: ogre shaman, dark ogre,
whatever.
Stage 45 is The Long March ("A New Journey") -- it
turns out that the chapter headers in the story are different from the
Stage names on screen. So some of my previous stage names were actually
story chapter names.
For some reason the Lost Castle side levels
all have mobs and chests and no going back to previous rooms, and at the
end they say "your progress will be lost" and kick you back to base
camp. But if you back to Story it picks up right where you left off, no
progress lost. The mobs are a bit weaker than on the main map.
