Idle Heroes: Tavern & Marketplace

This is part two of my series about Idle Heroes.  I wanted to start by giving a shout out to Barry Gaming for his upbeat, friendly and complete series of videos about the game.  Here is one of his episodes full of tips for early in the game.  (He is not endorsing this post, in fact he doesn't know I exist.  I just found his videos worth sharing.)

I wanted to start with a good login checklist ...

When you login, always look for the Check-In icon at upper left, right next to your player avatar.  Oh look, I made it to level 88.  Anyway, click Check-In for daily bonuses.  Right after that is an icon that has a new offer every 8 hours, click that one too.  Right after that is the gold coin bar.  Click that next to see if you have a free Hand of Midas offer to click on.  Then click the Campaign and get your loot and click the green Get button for coins and essences. If you have a Celestial Island, get the output from all your resource mines.  Then click Achieved and Quests over in the right sidebar to look for any other bonuses. Now that you have all the auto-generated stuff and offers, you're ready to play.

The next two screens I want to cover are the Tavern and the Marketplace.

The Tavern has two main sections: Team Quests and Individual Quests.  I'm not currently on a team, and nobody has accepted my guild invite requests so I can't comment on that one.  So let's look at Individual Quests.  Click Claim Quests.  A series of quests should be listed, each with a quest level.  Quests above level 3 give quest badges which you can use in the monthly Tavern Quest Event if it's running.  At the top of the screen you have some number of Quest Scrolls and some number of Senior Quest Scrolls.  You can use these scrolls to add new quests to the list.

You can click each quest and manually add heroes to the open slots, or click Autofill to let the computer pick heroes for you.  Click Start to begin the quest.  Or on the main screen, click Quick Dispatch and pick some quest levels to have the software fill all those quests with heroes all at once.  Level 3 quests take 3 hours and give the bonus shown when finished.  You can speed them up using 10 gems.  Level 4 quests take 6 hours and cost 20 gems to speed up.

You can refresh the quest list using gems, see the green button at lower right.

In the Marketplace there are a variety of currencies, each listed down the left-hand side, each with its own offers.  The original Marketplace uses gems and offers summon scrolls, wishing coins, arena tickets and other goodies.

Below that is the Glorious Temple marketplace which uses those curly gold things I never get any of, to buy artifacts, shards, and skins.

Next is the Soul Stone Store which uses soul stones to buy shards.  4-star shards come in batches of 30 for 150 to 225 stones.  5-stars can cost up to 6500 stones.

The Seal Land store uses tokens I don't have yet.  More about that when I get some to play with.

The Lucky Store uses lucky coins to buy equipment, and the list right now says Refresh for free.

The Arena Store uses arena tokens for shards, essences and avatars.

The Starland Store uses another token I've never seen.  More when I can get into it.

And there is one more store that I have not unlocked yet.

You really have to decide which offers make the most sense for you and your stage of character level.  There are some offers that seemed way too expensive early on which are no big deal now.  Overall, it's a good place to see just how much more stuff you have left to discover.
